Learning That Restores the Ocean: Our Collaboration with The Living Ocean
When we created LCA Made Simple, our goal was simple: to make Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) clear, practical, and accessible. Too often, LCA feels overly technical and hard to explain. This course changes that. It prepares you for the globally recognized ACLCA (CLE) certification and gives you the confidence to communicate complex results in a way people actually understand.
But for this launch, I wanted to do even more. I wanted the course itself to create impact in the world, not just in your career.
The inspiration for this came from a personal experience that changed how I see the ocean. On my first dive in Zanzibar, I saw the abundance of life in coral reefs, how much biodiversity they enable but also how fragile the ecosystems are. During the dive, I saw that approximately 80% of all the corals in that area were bleached. It was heartbreaking to see so much life lost, and it made me realise just how urgent restoration is. Then I learned about the coral nursery project in Zanzibar, and that gave me hope. Seeing corals being grown, cared for, and returned to the reef showed me that recovery is possible.
That experience is one of the reasons I wanted this launch to give something back. Not just to learners, but to the ocean itself. Which is why, for every learner who joins this founding cohort, a coral fragment will be planted in Zanzibar in your name.
Why The Living Ocean?
To make this possible, we partnered with The Living Ocean, a marine conservation NGO I deeply admire. Their mission is to protect the ocean through community-led conservation and education programs.
What excites me most about their work is how they connect people and nature. Their projects restore ecosystems while also creating opportunities for local communities to thrive.
Their initiatives include:
Environmental education in local schools
Sea turtle protection programs
Coral reef restoration
Alternative income opportunities for coastal communities
The Coral Nursery in Zanzibar
One of their most inspiring projects is the Linda Bahari Coral Nursery in Zanzibar.
Here, coral fragments are carefully grown and cared for until they are strong enough to be transplanted back onto degraded reefs.
Over time, these corals rebuild entire ecosystems.
🌊 They create shelter and food for fish.
🌊 They protect coastlines from erosion and storms.
🌊 They support tourism, fishing, and livelihoods for local communities.
By restoring coral reefs, The Living Ocean is bringing life back to the ocean and helping secure a sustainable future for the people who depend on it.
Your Learning = A Living Handprint
Here is the part that excites me the most. When you join LCA Made Simple during this launch (we only have 100 limited seats), you are not just gaining confidence and credibility in LCA. You are also planting the ocean back to life.
Every learner receives a follow-up photo of their coral fragment as it grows. It becomes a living reminder that your decision to learn also helped restore a reef.
This is the only time we are including coral planting as part of the course, which is exactly why I am so excited to welcome the first 100 people into this founding cohort.
This is not just another course launch. It is proof that learning can create impact, that knowledge can restore nature, and that together, we can leave a handprint instead of just a footprint.
👉 Join the course here and be part of this one-of-a-kind launch where your learning builds confidence and helps restore the ocean.
