Climate Positive Consulting: Building LCA Talent for Real-World Impact
How a sustainability consultancy expanded its capacity while inspiring the next generation of LCA professionals
Company
Climate Positive Consulting helps businesses measure, manage, and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions through practical, data-driven climate strategies. Their work includes product-level carbon footprinting and supporting organizations to take meaningful climate action.
Challenge: Growing Client Demand, Limited In-House Resources
Founder David Jaber needed skilled support to deliver a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for one of his clients’ products. However, like many small consultancies, finding affordable and capable talent with the right sustainability expertise was a challenge, especially for project-based client work with tight timelines.
Partnering with Environmental Impacts Academy
Through Environmental Impacts Academy’s Hands-On LCA Program, David found a way to gain credible LCA support while helping train future sustainability professionals.
Our program, powered by the Earthster platform, connects companies with trained interns who conduct real-world LCAs under expert mentorship, combining quality outcomes with hands-on learning.
“Those of you both looking for LCA support and seeking to help students get involved should definitely investigate EIA. And also Earthster as a way to both construct LCAs and visualize results in a very user-friendly way.”
Solution: Matching Talent, Training, and Tools
After clarifying Climate Positive Consulting’s needs, we pre-screened 3–5 candidates from our Hands-On LCA Talent Pool based on relevant skills, experience, and academic background. David selected Kwame B. Agyemang, a sustainability student pursuing his second master’s degree at Linköping University in Sweden.
After completing an intensive two-week Hands-On LCA training with Environmental Impacts Academy, Kwame joined Climate Positive Consulting as an intern. With guidance from EIA mentors and teachers, he carried out the LCA for one of Climate Positive Consulting’s client projects, helping deliver a credible and visualised carbon footprint assessment using the LCA Software Earthster.
Results: Quality Insights and Career Transformation
Kwame’s analysis gave Climate Positive Consulting valuable insights into their client’s product carbon footprint, improving how results were presented and interpreted for decision-making.
For Kwame, the project became a turning point in his career:
“LCA was not my priority before this program, but attending it has inspired me to work with LCA. It’s a vibrant and growing field, and I now see how this knowledge can be applied across industries. I’ve already recommended this opportunity to many of my friends.”
Takeaway: A Win-Win Model for small teams
This collaboration shows how small teams can expand capacity, strengthen delivery, and mentor new sustainability professionals, all in one setup.
By combining hands-on training, expert guidance, and real client projects, Environmental Impacts Academy helps small teams take on bigger challenges while shaping the next generation of LCA practitioners.
